Golfing and U.S. presidents go hand in hand, but it was President Eisenhower who really institutionalized it as the sport of the presidents. He was known to practice every morning and even had a putting green installed outside his office, from where he would dictate to his secretary.
He frequented Augusta so often (29 times during his presidency), that there is an Eisenhower Cabin and an Ike’s Pond on the course.
While no one can doubt his enthusiasm for the sport, it is said that Eisenhower’s golfing skills never quite matched those of other presidents.
